Amazingly enough, before I decided to buy the 2170W laser printer, I hadn't owned a printer since 1990. That was an old Panasonic 4420 laser, which was pretty "updown" in it's day. I sold it years ago, and haven't had a need for a printer since.

I began shopping for the HL 2170W because I had moved my accounting practice to my new home office. For years I had use of the laser printer provided by the accounting firm that I worked for. Now that I am out on my own, I have had to equip my home office, and the HL 2170W was a good place to start.

I considered an all-in-one inkjet printer, however I put together formal proposals, and the text has to be extremely sharp and professional.

Frankly, it had been so long since I shopped for a printer, I wasn't sure where to start. My brother in law suggested that I check the laser printers on Amazon.com. In addition to the Brother 2170W, I also looked at a couple of all-in-one printers; the Canon MX860 and Canon MP620 models.

I decided to go with the HL 2170W, after reading one particularly positive 2170W Review. I thought it would be the perfect addition to my new home office!

The HL 2170W Prints At The Speed Of Light!

The 2170W arrived in great shape, just a couple of days after I ordered it. I had selected the perfect spot for it, only a few feet from my desktop. It has wireless connectivity, however that feature really didn't interest me at the time. At some point, I may want to print from my laptop, and I may go with the wireless feature at that point.

My understanding is that going wireless with the HL 2170W is very simple.

I am certainly glad that it has a relatively small footprint, and only weighs 19 pounds, because space in my office is rather limited, and the more compact, the better. It is also a big plus that the Brother 2170W has a large paper tray capable of holding 250 sheets.

This unit is also MEGA fast and surprisingly quiet! It "spits out" sheets at around 23 a minute! And, considering the HL 2170Wgets "rolling" in less than 10 seconds, printing tasks are finished before you know it!

And the print quality has to be seen to be believed! Razor sharp text, ultra crisp and clear!The instruction manual is well written, and easy to understand, so you can be printing 15 minutes after you open the box.

At this point, to say that the HL 2170W is a welcome addition to my home office, would be gross understatement!
